On January 9, the annual National Science and Technology Awards Conference was held in the Great Hall of the People. This time, a total of 1 first prize and 41 second prizes of the National Natural Science Award were selected; 3 first prizes of the National Technology Invention Award were selected. , 63 second prizes; 2 special prizes of the National Science and Technology Progress Award, 20 first prizes and 149 second prizes. Our instrumentation industry also "reaped a lot" and won 13 awards.
During the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" period, the instrumentation industry, especially the smart instrumentation industry, was supported and encouraged by the national industrial policy and achieved great development.
However, in this context, the government still chose all imported products in a purchase in 2016. As soon as this news came out, it can be said that it shocked the domestic instrumentation industry and caused a lot of doubts. But in fact, in the field of instrumentation, similar "imported product procurement announcements" are not new, and even similar questions are not new. On the one hand, there are favorable policies for domestic instruments and meters, and on the other hand, relevant institutions are reluctant to use domestic instruments and meters. The reasons for this are worth exploring.
Is domestic instrumentation really bad? Although there is a clear gap between domestic instruments and meters compared with foreign countries. However, since the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan", under the guidance of the independent innovation policy, the technical level of instrumentation products has been greatly improved. At present, in the fields of mass spectrometry, chromatography, and spectroscopy, domestic instruments have entered the high-end Application market. It can be said that the technical strength and product level of my country's instrumentation are no longer the same.
But as far as the environment is concerned, the recognition of domestic instruments is still not high. An expert revealed in an interview: "If a user unit purchases a domestically-made instrument, when a problem arises, it will be accused of bad equipment. The purchaser of the instrument should be held responsible, but if there is a problem with the imported instrument, everyone can only think that The current state-of-the-art technology is not perfect.” This prejudice can be said to be a fatal injury to the instrumentation of state-owned enterprises, which directly leads to the general tendency of purchasers to import products when purchasing.
At the same time, my country's instrumentation industry does have some problems. For example, enterprises have the characteristics of ‘small, scattered, and chaotic’, and price wars and homogenized competition are still relatively common. This has also led to a certain degree of distrust of domestic equipment by user units.
Only when there is demand, there will be momentum for development, and when there is momentum, there will be growth. Strengthening the procurement of domestic instruments and meters is also a huge driving force for the development of my country's instrumentation industry. Market demand will promote the improvement of the overall competitiveness of the industry and shorten the gap between my country's instrumentation technology and foreign advanced technology.
However, Chinese enterprises still need to work hard. External factors are the conditions for the development of things, and external factors work through internal factors. If my country's instrumentation industry wants to achieve qualitative changes and development, improving itself is also a key task. Continue to increase technological investment and innovation, adjust the industrial structure, make breakthroughs in high-end fields, and improve instrument reliability and stability. These are important ways for instrumentation companies to carry out their own reforms.
